HOW IT WORKS

Produce is distributed every Tuesday (Tuscaloosa) and Thursday (Birmingham) mid-April until after Thanksgiving. Options include the full season, spring, fall, or spring and fall.

PICK A SHARE SIZE AND SEASON
* a note on credit card processing fees:
If you choose to pay with a credit card, the fees (2.19%) are worked into the cost of a share.

If you choose to pay with an Automatic Check Draft, there will be a 1.19% discount and you will only pay the 1% processing fee.

If you choose to pay by check through the mail, there will be a 2.19% discount.  No extra fees.

This way, if you want the convenience of paying by credit card, it is there for you, but if you do not want to pay the extra fees, there is an option for you as well.
At the point where you choose a payment plan, all of these options will be available.  I hope it is not overly confusing.

Full Year (34 weeks) Mid April through Thanksgiving: $25.55/week regular, $19.42/week small
Spring (12 weeks) Mid April through end of June: $28.61/week regular, $21.46/week small
Fall (12 weeks) Mid September through Thanksgiving: $28.61/week, $21.46/week small

The CSA begins in mid-April. We have chosen not to assign a specific date at this time due to the unpredictability of the weather, but will let you know 2 weeks in advance of the first delivery. The number one determining factor will be the ripening of the strawberries! The CSA will go at least until Thanksgiving and possibly into December.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How much produce is in each week’s share?
A full weekly share contains 6 to 8 items, and a small share contains 4 to 6 items. In the spring and fall you will receive a bag of salad, a cooking green, and at least one root vegetable each week. Other vegetables include broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, and fresh herbs. In the spring, you will receive strawberries every week that they are available, sometimes multiple pints. In the fall, you will receive sweet potatoes or winter squash in alternating weeks. We try to distribute reasonable portion amounts (a bunch, pint, pound, etc.) The summer shares also contain 6 to 8 items and will vary from month to month. It will be a mix of tomatoes, squash, zucchini, cucumbers, melons, potatoes, eggplant, okra, peppers, basil, and more.
