Tomatoes
originated in the Andean region of South America. They migrated north and made
their way to Europe, where they were used as ornamentals and thought to be
poisonous. They were first used for food in Italy. There are thousands of
varieties ranging in color, size, and flavor. We grow three main categories:
heirloom, cherry, and hybrid red tomatoes. The flavor of the heirloom varieties
is superior to the others, however, they are more difficult to grow and less
productive.
